Ronda Rousey remains Rumble favorite despite leaving country until mid-February

Despite opening as a favorite to win this year’s women’s Royal Rumble match, future UFC Hall of Famer Ronda Rousey will not even be in the country when history is made in Philadelphia on Sunday.

TMZ caught up with Rousey just before she boarded a plane to finish shooting Mile 22, an upcoming action movie that also stars Mark Wahlberg, Lauren Cohan, John Malkovich.

Rousey claims that she will be not return to the States until mid-February, which means she could still show up for this year’s WrestleMania if she can hammer out a deal in time. As of this moment, Rousey says that there has been no ‘pen to paper’ for her in regards to WWE.

Although she has made appearances on WWE programming in the past at WrestleMania 31 and more recently at the Mae Young Classic, Rousey has yet to wrestle a match with the promotion. The former 6x defending UFC Women’s Bantamweight remains the odds on favorite to win the Rumble as of this writing followed by Asuka, Nia Jax, Paige (who is reportedly not cleared for in-ring action) and Becky Lynch.
