Moxley out, ‘Bastard’ in to face Omega at All Out

It appears that the long awaited meeting between Jon Moxley and Kenny Omega will have to wait. Fortunately, a more than formidable opponent has been tapped to save the day.

It was revealed earlier this week that Moxley has been dealing with a case of staph infection in his elbow. We wouldn’t find out the seriousness of the infection until moments ago when the official announcement of his removal from AEW’s upcoming All Out pay-per-view event in Chicago was announced.

While this dream match between Moxley and Omega was certainly one of the major selling points for the PPV, the quick insertion of PAC as a replacement certainly calms matters for some and even upgrades for others.

The “Bastard” PAC was originally scheduled to face Hangman Page in what was being touted as the main event for the promotions inaugural PPV, Double or Nothing, earlier this year. In the end, it would turn out that some differences between PAC and AEW would arise causing this contest — one that was rumored to have been for the inaugural world title that will now be on the line when Hangman meets Jericho at All Out — to be put on hold.

Instead, PAC will now meet Omega in a match up that screams match of the night candidate for a PPV that on paper presents zero downtime for fans. And of course, Moxley, who just went through the best stretch of his career, nearly winning the B-Block as a competitor in New Japan’s G1 Climax, will be back in a big way to take on all comers, including Omega, in the near future for AEW. Here’s to a quick recovery.
